The Traditional Collection,
Our Traditional Mahogany Furniture.
This fantastic solid mahogany range of reproduction furniture is based on the 18th and 19th century period furniture styles.
All of the traditional furniture within this collection is constructed from solid African Mahogany with the added extra of olive ash bandings and inlays on both tops of the cabinets, this provides the perfect match to ensure your traditional furniture is in keeping with the 18th & 19th century.
If you would like to mix the traditional mahogany furniture range with furniture from our Grandeur collection or the Regal Collection then this can be arranged, please speak to one of our advisors who will be happy to offer you information and advice on our solid mahogany furniture collections.
True reproduction mahogany furniture may not require inlays or olive ash bandings if this is the case then all of the solid furniture will be supplied minus these extras. All of our traditional furniture is made out of solid mahogany which is always taken from the same log to ensure similar pattern design. This allows Charles Barr to retain an even colour and look on all of our reproduction pieces of furniture.
More importantly as the timbers are from one log it reduces the chance of uneven timber movement which can lead to faults forming in table surfaces such as cracks and splits or bow shaping which would normally occur in tops containing a combination of timber from different trees, rather than solid mahogany from one piece of timber.
